Frequently Asked Questions

Plain-language answers about systematic algorithmic trading, managed accounts under Limited Power of Attorney, and how AlphaGate Investment Group operates.

What does AlphaGate Investment Group do?

AlphaGate Investment Group is a UK-based systematic trading firm. We operate rules-based algorithmic trading strategies across major currency pairs, gold and digital assets, delivered through individually managed client accounts.

What is a managed account under Limited Power of Attorney (LPOA)?

A managed account is a trading account opened in your own name at a regulated broker. You grant AlphaGate a Limited Power of Attorney, which permits us to place trades on the account but not to withdraw or transfer funds. You retain full ownership and custody of your capital at all times and can revoke the authority whenever you choose.

Does AlphaGate ever hold client money?

No. Client funds are held at the client's own broker. AlphaGate never takes possession of, or has withdrawal access to, client capital.

Which markets do the strategies trade?

The programmes trade liquid instruments including GBP/USD, AUD/CAD, NZD/CAD, gold (XAU/USD), Bitcoin (BTC/USD) and Ethereum (ETH/USD). Each programme has a defined instrument allocation and risk band.

What is the difference between the AG-01, AG-02, AG-03 and AG-04 programmes?

The programmes share the same research process but sit at different points on the risk spectrum. AG-01 is the most conservative, focused on lower volatility and steady compounding. AG-02 adds more exposure with moderately higher sizing. AG-03 runs the framework at an elevated risk setting with an increased bitcoin allocation. AG-04 is a significant increase on risk exposure and is not recommended for skeptical users and is only to be considered sparingly.

Are the published results live or backtested?

Performance figures shown on this website are simulated backtest results for the research period 2022–2026 unless explicitly labelled as live. Backtested results do not represent actual trading and may not reflect the impact of material economic and market conditions. Where a programme has a verified live track record, a link to the third-party verification is provided on the strategy card.

What are the main risks?

All trading involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. Leveraged FX, commodity and digital asset trading can produce large and rapid drawdowns. Higher-risk programmes carry materially greater variance. Past performance, whether live or simulated, is not a reliable indicator of future results.

Who can invest with AlphaGate?

Our programmes are intended for investors who understand the risks of leveraged systematic trading and are able to tolerate significant variance. Detailed strategy documentation and research materials are available on request through the Investor Access form.

How do I get started?

Submit an enquiry through the Investor Access or Contact form on this website. We will respond within one to two business days with programme documentation, account-opening steps and the LPOA process.
